Your Art Classroom – Online

So I was flipping through some of the searches that people were hitting DrawCore for – and I found out that a lot of people were getting sent to the drawing tablet article for “best tablet for drawing.”

It might seem like a tiny little difference, but a drawing tablet and a tablet you can draw on are two different things.

This is a Drawing Tablet

Wacom Bamboo PenI use the Bamboo Pen – a slightly out-dated and small tablet. And I love it. I don’t see myself upgrading any time in the near future. I hate the touch gestures on the pen and touch tablets, and I really don’t need anything larger.

This one does the trick. I’ve already written an article for you to pick the best drawing tablet for you, so I’m not going to go over everything again.

This is a Tablet to Use for Drawing

Lenovo ThinkpadAnd, in my opinion, is the best tablet to use for drawing. The Lenovo ThinkPad has a HUGE screen (compared to 7″ tablets) and a pressure-sensitive stylus.

That means it’s a great supplement to your existing digital art workflow.

I figured you might want a little demo, so watch the video above to see the tablet in action.

All-in-all, this is a great tablet with tons of power for the artist. There are other options out there – but the closest in function that I’ve been able to find is the Samsung Galaxy Note.

There are capacitive stylus options out there for almost any tablet or smart phone, but you simply can’t beat the pressure-sensitive stylus and the ability to turn off the touch input.

Here are some links to get your hands on the ThinkPad and a few must-have accessories:

UPDATE 1-29-2012!

I have been informed of another great tablet for artists – the ASUS VivoTab 11.6-Inch 64GB Tablet.

This tablet is a bit more expensive, but if you have the budget it’s worth the buy.

It’s also worth noting that the Lenovo ThinkPad 2 is out now, but the accessories mentioned for the original ThinkPad probably don’t fit.[/thb_box]

I hope you found this review helpful!

If you like what you see then share it with your friends and fellow artists. I appreciate it.
